Questions, answered
A few things worth knowing
How does the LaPieza salary calculator work?
Enter your country, amount, period and gross/net direction. The tool applies the published reference inputs reviewed on 6 September 2026 for Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil. It estimates net pay and employer provisions; yearly and twice-monthly views are monthly equivalents. See the assumptions and official links beside the result.
Which countries does the calculator support?
Four markets: Mexico (MXN), Colombia (COP), Argentina (ARS plus the USD via monotributo freelance path), and Brazil (BRL). Each market has its own dedicated tax engine — not a single shared approximation. Conversions work both ways: gross to net and net to gross.
Do I need to share any personal information?
No account or email is required. The calculation runs in your browser. This is not a promise of anonymous browsing: site analytics and error diagnostics may operate as described in the Privacy Notice. Avoid entering sensitive details.
How is monotributo handled for Argentine freelancers paid in USD?
ARCA service-category fees effective 1 August 2026, with one health beneficiary. Annualized revenue is only an illustration—not the actual prior 12 months or proof of eligibility. Other category/exclusion rules, provincial taxes and banking costs are excluded. Enter your comparison FX rate: no live rate is supplied; confirm the legally applicable conversion separately.
What's the minimum aguinaldo (Christmas bonus) in Mexico?
Mexican law requires at least 15 days of salary, paid by December 20 each year. Common upgrades in offers are 21 days (three weeks) at middle-market employers and 30 days (a full month) at government roles and the most generous corporates. The calculator includes a side-by-side comparer showing what 15, 21, and 30 days are worth at your salary level, plus the prorated amount as of today's date.
Why is the employer's true cost so much higher than my gross salary?
Employers contribute to social security, housing or other funds and statutory benefits in addition to gross salary. The amounts depend on country, contribution base, sector, employer regime and benefits. This tool illustrates selected provisions, not a complete payroll budget.
Can I model equity (options or RSUs) on top of the cash comp?
Yes. Open the advanced expander and toggle Equity Grant on. Enter your number of units, strike price, and fair-market value per share. The calculator shows the grant value, the spread (FMV minus strike), the per-year vested value, and the equity portion of total comp. The vest schedule is laid out in four editorial chapters: Year 1 cliff lands, Year 2 half vested, Year 3 the negotiation moment, and Year 4 fully vested.
How accurate is the tax math?
Every result is an estimate; we do not guarantee a percentage of accuracy against a payslip. The references and review date are disclosed beside the result. Argentina uses an annualized reference rather than actual cumulative withholding. Personal deductions, other income, special regimes and annual reconciliations can materially change the result. Confirm actual payroll and tax obligations with a qualified professional.
